CHRISTINE AUSTINE

Christine has been teaching Pilates for the past 18 years. During that time she has been amazed at the diversity of clients she has taught and having seen so many be empowered through the use of pilates to improve their life. She has trained young teenagers, post operative clients, clients with chronic conditions e.g. MS, Parkinson’s - in many circumstances clients who have ended up astonished with the positive impact pilates has had on them.

Christine trained as a Pilates teacher as a result of her own experience, having received the benefits first hand which supported her in managing her own aggressive arthritis, scoliosis and osteoporosis. She watched her Mother and Grandmother suffer with painful joints and restricted mobility and knew intuitively that there most be a better way to address these conditions. She passionately wanted to share the benefits with others, and in a desire to know more, studied in depth, qualifying with internationally recognised Body Control Pilates.

Over the years Christine has taken herself to New York to seek out first generation teachers who worked with Joseph Pilates and to California to understand and compare the differences in East Coast Pilates to West Coast Pilates as well as Geneva to study with Master teachers on aspects of balance training.

She is also qualified to teach Golfers, Seniors, Pre and Post Natal, and  those with symptoms of Long Covid.

“Every day we wake up in a different state and Pilates takes you through Alignment, Breathing and Core Skills to achieve flowing movements to help to bring mind and body into harmony.”
